The primary benefit of a cloud CMS is that you never have to worry about the hosting and upkeep of your content management system. A typical non-cloud CMS requires internal or third-party web hosting, manual patching and upgrades, and lots of coordination. These elements add cost, complexity and frustration to the website development and maintenance process which is already pretty darn cumbersome.
Agility was a cloud CMS from day one. We used to call it an ASP CMS and then a SaaS CMS, but it’s really all the same thing. Several other vendors claim to have a cloud CMS, but in reality, they are just traditional CMSs hosted in the cloud.
Check out this post on CMS Report for more background on installed vs. cloud CMS.
There are several ASP.NET CMS options out there, but Agility is the only one that is cloud-based. It is also the best for magazines, blogs and media sites because we have tuned it for this purpose over several years.
Agility was the first CMS to support ASP.NET MVC and we were lucky because our model was always similar to this. You can also use Web forms if you prefer, or a combination of both MVC and Web forms.
Agility extends existing ASP.NET controls and constructs so there is no proprietary code to learn. This makes it very easy to pick up for ASP.NET developers.
